Fire Protection

A volunteer fire department that is comprised of a Fire Chief, a Deputy Chief, Fire Captains and firefighters staff the Pouce Coupe Volunteer Fire Department. These trained and dedicated volunteers are on-call 24-hours per day and receive an honorarium for the calls they attend. Pouce Coupe is protected by the Dawson Creek RCMP Detachment.Their jurisdiction encompasses an area of approximately 6,000 square miles that includes Dawson Creek, Pouce Coupe, Rolla, Arras, Farmington and Kelly Lake. The RCMP Detachment police officers and staff are committed to working with community groups, businesses and individuals to ensure a safe community.

Pouce Coupe is served by the British Columbia Ambulance Service, located in Dawson Creek. The response area from Dawson Creek includes all of the Peace Region and those areas of Alberta close to the border, including Bay Tree, Bonanza and Gundy. The 24-hour ambulance service employs 34 paramedics and operates multiple ambulances.

Water and Sewer

The Village's Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining water and sewer mains on Village property. Private property owners are accountable for any maintenance and repair of issues that occur from the main line, including the connection at the main to the property owner’s building.
