Special weather statement in effect for:

  • B.C. North Peace River
  • B.C. South Peace River

Snow expected Tuesday through Wednesday.

A frontal system moving across northern British Columbia will give the first snow in the season to the Peace River region.

Light rain from the system will start overnight tonight and will change to snow mixed with rain or wet snow Tuesday morning. The snow is expected to persist through Wednesday with total accumulations of 10 to 15 cm possible. Locally heavier amounts could be possible over higher terrain.

  • Highway 97 - Pine Pass

Snow expected Tuesday through Wednesday.

A frontal system moving across northern British Columbia will give the first snow in the season to the Peace River region.

Light rain from the system will start overnight tonight and will change to snow mixed with rain or wet snow Tuesday morning. The snow is expected to persist through Wednesday with total accumulations of 10 to 15 cm possible. Locally heavier amounts could be possible over higher terrain.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

Road conditions are available at www.drivebc.ca.

 

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.  If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Crews are preparing for the snowfall and will be out tonight and into Wednesday, plowing and sanding/salting.  Please watch for plow trucks and give them room to work.
