Meet Duncan Malkinson

My name is Duncan Malkinson, and I’ve recently been given the honour of serving as Pouce Coupe’s Interim Chief Administrative Officer/Corporate Officer (CA/CO). I’m truly excited to take this role on and to focus on adding value through hard work, strong relationships, and in providing high-quality service to residents.

I was born and raised in the South Peace, and have spent the past decade working across northern British Columbia in service-focused leadership roles. My experience includes time as Director of Corporate Services for multiple local governments, as well as serving as Executive Director for organizations like the Dawson Creek Art Gallery and the Dawson Creek & District Chamber of Commerce. These roles have deepened my belief in community development and engagement—values I’m excited to carry forward in service to Pouce Coupe.

One Pouce Coupe story that makes me proud to serve comes from Dorothea Calverly's fonds. It describes the community coming together in 1921, with limited health services, to build a hospital from the ground up using volunteer labour. It’s one of the many examples in Pouce's history of resilience and neighbours stepping up to help each other.

This role is a trust: and I look forward to honouring that trust by loyally serving Council, staff, and the public and in moving forward Council's strategic priorities. Pouce Coupe has a proud history and a bright future, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to play a small part in it.
