Prince George Fire Centre Fire Ban effective June 5, 2025

Effective at 12:00 (noon) on Thursday, June 5, 2025, Category 1 open fires (campfires) are prohibited across the Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, and Fort Nelson fire zones.

This prohibition applies to campfires (Category 1) and will be in place until Oct. 31, 2025, or until the order is rescinded.
Prohibitions apply to all public and private lands unless otherwise specified (e.g. in an enactment or local government bylaw). In addition to prohibiting the use of open fires of any size, the following activities are prohibited:
• Tiki Torches, Chimineas
• Fireworks
• Sky Lanterns
• Burn Barrels or Burn Cages of any size or description
• Binary exploding targets
This prohibition does not ban the use of cooking stoves with a CSA or ULC rating that use gas, propane or briquettes.
